ESTABLISHED 1993, JRS Architects has extensive experience with projects for religious communities, schools, community groups and city, county and state agencies. We are organized to ensure direct principal involvement in every project. We have two LEED accredited professionals and two licensed architects in Maryland. We are NCARB certified. We are an MDOT-certified MBE/DBE architectural firm and certified as a Women's Business Enterprise by Baltimore City MWBOO.
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES: Every project is different, but we strive to provide the same high level of service whether the project is large or small, simple or complex, $50,000 or $12 million. We are equipped to provide the following services: programming, facilities evaluation, code analysis, cost estimating, historic evaluations, site selection and analysis, master planning, zoning analysis and appeals, feasibility studies, space planning, concept design, construction drawings, specifications, value engineering, consultant team coordination, including structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, geotechnical, acoustical, liturgical, lighting design, interior design, codes, cost estimating, landscape design, construction administration, construction management.
PROJECT EXPERIENCE: Regardless of your particular building type, we have completed projects of similar size and scope, but over nearly 20 years we have completed more church and school projects than any other. We have special expertise in churches, all denominations, including any of the following facilities: sanctuary, worship space, meeting room, multipurpose room, school, day care, administrative offices, convent, rectory; and schools, public, private, independent, including any of the following facilities: classroom, art, family studies, library, cafeteria, storage, mechanical, systemic renovations, gymnasium, athletic fields, science labs, health suite, MSDE, IAC requirements.
SPECIAL EXPERTISE: We are experienced in new construction, renovation, rehabilitation, adaptive reuse, restoration, historic preservation. We have completed many projects involving building maintenance and accessibility and barrier-free design. We have many years experience in roofing historic buildings, including slate, clay tile, copper, tern coated steel, aluminum, standing seam. We have completed numerous additions to older buildings. We have completed numerous systemic renovations, including architectural support and coordination for lighting upgrades, sprinkler, fire protection, security alarms, new electrical and water service, mechanical systems, HVAC. We have completed numerous projects in masonry restoration, including limestone, sandstone, granite, brick, terrazzo and marble. We have completed numerous large scale projects in stained glass design and restoration. We specialize in art, art in architecture, architecture as art, symbolic space. We provide complete construction administration and/or construction management services.
