For over 32 years, since his graduation with a BArch from Carnegie-Mellon University, Jim’s focus has been community-based architecture with areas of expertise in adaptive re-use, historic preservation, master planning and interior architecture. He is forward thinking as it relates to the use of technology as a tool to facilitate the work, but he is strident in his belief in Craft and the truth in the nature of materials. Working with artists and craftspeople is vital to his design process, which allows for an integration of design language from the macro to the micro.
